Pawleys Plantation Welcomes Two New Chefs!
Please join Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club in welcoming two new chefs to our banquets and events team.
Our new Executive Chef is Brian Monahan and our new Sous Chef is Mike Coberly. Both Chef Brian and Chef Mike come to us from Denver, Colorado. They each have extremely well-rounded and extensive culinary backgrounds that include fine dining, casual fare, large banquets and pastry creation.
Chef Brian graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Business Management. He also obtained an Associate’s degree from the New England Culinary Institute. Chef Brian has worked at some of the best food and beverage establishments in the country including the Four Seasons Hotel, Ameristar Casino, and Wolfgang Puck’s Spago at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
Chef Mike’s past employs include the Timberline Steakhouse, the Sheraton Denver Downtown and The Inventing Room Catering and Restaurant. In 2015, Chef Mike and his colleague won CNBC’s entrepreneurial competition show “Restaurant Startup” to help promote The Inventing Room. He has also participated in the Dubai International Food Festival and is versed in molecular gastronomy.
